Welcome to Our Website...

Welcome to the Walvis bay Yacht Club (WBYC) Website. May you sail through it with your browser and get to know  us, from being the most prominent Yacht Club on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean situated at the Port of Walvis Bay – the largest commercial port of Namibia, down to the good old character of our Clubhouse with its amenities.  Nestled at the brink of the Port and  Lagoon, the WBYC gives our members the opportunity to enjoy sail, powerboat, camaraderie  and numerous social activities. Our  active membership, through their volunteer efforts as well as Sponsors, makes all of these diverse boating and social events joyful and entertaining with success.
Since the inauguration of the WBYC in 1961, we have grown from strength to strength in membership as well as stature in society but more specifically boating which encompasses sailing, canoeing, windsurfing,  kite-surfing, power-boating, training  and all other related and associated sporting disciplines.
Our Club house welcomes you with its ambiance of yachting character complimented by many memorabilia and features a lounge, bars, verandas, function room, terrace, beach and jetty. The relaxing venue where not only local enthusiasts, but also many visitors have encountered our friendly hosting. Some made it a “Port of Call" and others chose it as a point of association with likeminded people. We pride ourselves with the many compliments and accolades received over the years.
You are invited to visit us and conclude for yourself to perhaps even join as a member. Make yourself comfortable on the veranda or terrace, enjoy a refreshment and ponder about the essence of life while you visually capture our amazing sunsets.
Should you wish to share with us any news, experience, photos, etc. that could further benefit and enhance our Website’s value content and reach, we certainly look forward to hearing from you!
